Learn More About Our Fire Chief

Steve Rogers

The Fire Chief is the administrative head of the combination paid/volunteer fire department of the City of Nash. Regular duties include overseeing the daily operation of the department as well as conducting business inspections, building plan reviews, Fire Code enforcement and organizing fire safety and fire prevention programs. The Fire Chief works closely with other departments of the city to provide outstanding services to the citizens of Nash.

Steve started a career in fire service in 1981 as a Probationary Firefighter for the City of Texarkana Texas. After serving many years and in several roles in that department, he came to Nash in 2004 as the Fire Chief while still working for Texarkana. In 2017, Steve retired from that department and now concentrates his efforts on leading the Nash Fire Department and providing service for the citizens of Nash. He is a certified Emergency Medical Technician with the Texas Department of State Health Services and is certified with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as an Advanced Firefighter, Fire Instructor, Fire Inspector, Wildland Firefighter, and Hazardous Materials Technician. Steve is married and has one son who is also a Firefighter.
