Chief Dial began his career in Law enforcement in 2005 with the Texarkana, Texas Police Department.
Chief Dial came to the Nash Police Department as a police officer in 2012. After a brief appointment as the sergeant, Chief Dial was then appointed as the interim chief in 2012 when the position was vacated by Doug Bowers, City Administrator of Nash. Chief Dial was appointed as the full-time Chief of Police in March of 2013. He holds an Advanced Peace Officer license from the State of Texas and has a wide variety of specialized training including Drug Recognition Expert, Special Weapons and Tactics Operator, and numerous hours of law enforcement management and administration courses from the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas.
He is a Member of First Baptist Church of Texarkana. Outside of law enforcement, Kelly enjoys spending time with his wife Shannon, who is a Dyslexia Interventionist with the Texarkana Arkansas School District and their seven children.
